My site evaluator was Alice Ngai, a surgical PA at NYPQ. During my site evaluations, I presented all the SOAP notes that I written from my time at the Emergency Department at NYPQ. PA Ngai offered constructive comments on presenting patients and helped me improve the writing of my SOAP notes. As I continued thru presenting each case PA Ngai made very appropriate comments. In the end she said I had broad and appropriate differentials with a good assessment and plan. She recommended that I include dates and time in my HPI because this would help the next provider reading the note understand the chronological progression of the patient’s illness. She also thoroughly assessed my proposed plan for the patient. Feedback regarding this area was especially beneficial because it helped me learn how to manage cases and grow as a future medical provider.
