My site evaluator was PA Melendez, a physician assistant and professor at York College PA program. During my site evaluations, I presented two out of the three history and physicals that I had written from my time at Woodhull. PA Melendez offered constructive comments on presenting patients and helped me improve the writing of my H&Ps. When I presented my first two cases PA Melendez made very appropriate comments. In the end he said I had broad and appropriate differentials with a good assessment and plan. My first patient was a undergoing an incomplete abortion and had retained products of conception. She was stable at this time and did not appear septic. I was able to help the provider at the time get an abdominal ultrasound. Later on I was able to scrub in and the provider also let me do a small portion of the dilation and curettage. PA Melendez thoroughly assessed my proposed plan for this patient. Feedback regarding this area was especially beneficial because it helped me learn how to manage cases and grow as a future medical provider. I appreciated PA Melendez for the time he took to meet with me and the comments that he made to help me grow as a PA.
